It all starts bright and early tomorrow morning at 10.45am!!!

If you've missed out recent intake, fret not, our next round of auditions will be held in May 2012!

Requirements

Candidates should be between 8 to 14 years of age. They should perform a short song of any language and genre that does not exceed 4 minutes. They will be tested on their vocal ability and sensitivity to pitch.

2011 Term 1 commences!

Week 1 rehearsals of 2011 started with a bang!

A total of 40 new members joined our ranks in training.

With new songs, theory lessons, singing techniques being learnt, our children had a wonderful time, and we hope they'll continue growing with us.

If you're keen to sing with the Singapore Symphony Children's Choir, our next round of auditions will be held in May 2011, for a term commencement in July 2011

The Victoria Concert Hall will be undergoing a major renovation over the next three to four years; as such, alternative rehearsal venues have been sourced for the Singapore Symphony Chorus, as well as the Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir (SSCC).

The Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir will, from 11 September 2010, be re-housed at the Nanyang Fine Arts Academy, Creative Media Studios.

Q. If there are 50 children auditioning, do I still have to come at 7pm?
A. Your child will be scheduled for audition with 10 minute intervals. Once your registration form has been received, the programme executive will work out an audition schedule accordingly. The Programme Executive will contact you and notify you of your audition time, and when you should report for the audition.
The audition will run till approximately 9.30pm. Should there be an overwhelming response, we may schedule a 2nd audition during the week.

Q. How long will my child have to sing?
A. Your child's audition piece should not be longer than 4 minutes long; and the audition process should take no more than 10minutes. He/She can sing any song of any language; other than nursery rhymes or pop songs.

Q. Is a pianist required for the auditions?
A. Pianists are not required for the children's audition. The instructors will assess your child's vocal abilities and sensitivity to pitch.

Q. What is the dateline for registration?
A. Registration forms should be submitted no later than 13 May 2010, to facilitate planning of audition schedule. However, if you miss this main audition, you can still call the choral line for inquiries of ad-hoc auditions.

The SSCC Training Choirs will be holding their bi-annual Presentation Concert this Saturday, 21 Nov 2009, at the Victorial Concert Hall from 12pm to 1pm.

This concert is to showcase what our young singers have learnt in their training sessions, and also to expose them to the performance experience.

The concert is FREE FOR ALL. Please invite all family and friends to come and show support to our SSCC Training Choir singers!
